Police leave scene of Bicester Motion fire

There is still a cordon in place around the area

Thames Valley Police have left the scene of the Bicester Motion fire today (10th June) which happened on 15th May.

The fire, which took place on Buckingham Road, tragically killed three people, and seriously injured two others.

Two firefighters, Martyn Sadler and Jennie Logan, and a member of the public, Dave Chester, sadly passed.

One firefighter still remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A Thames Valley police spokesperson said; "Following our thorough investigation, led by our Major Crime Unit, alongside the Health and Safety Executive, assisted by fire investigators, the scene watch was lifted at 1pm, although a cordon remains in place around the area to prohibit public access."

Assistant Chief Constable Dennis Murray said: “Our thoughts will always be with the loved ones of Jennie Logan, Martyn Sadler and Dave Chester, as well as the injured firefighters, following this tragic incident.

“This remains an unexplained death investigation and is being led by our Major Crime Unit, who continue to work with fire investigators and the Health and Safety Executive to ascertain the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the sad deaths of Jennie, Martyn and Dave.

“Following thorough investigations by all involved, we have now left the scene and handed control of it back to Bicester Motion.

“The investigation is ongoing and we will not be making further comment.”
