Police appeal for witnesses following assault in Oxford
A man has been injured in altercation on Cowley Road
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a man in his twenties was injured during an altercation in Oxford in the early hours of 27th December.
The incident happened between 2am and 3am on Cowley Road, near Manzil Way Gardens, and involved three men. One of them sustained injuries that required hospital treatment, though he has since been discharged.
Police are now looking to speak to two men who may have information relevant to their investigation.
The first man is described as white, between 17 and 19 years old, of slim build, clean-shaven, and wearing a black jacket.
The second man is described as white, aged between 30 and 40 years old, short, bald, clean-shaven.
Detective Constable Gabija Selegaite from Thames Valley Police’s Oxford Criminal Investigation Department said:
“We believe this altercation broke out in the early hours of the morning on Cowley Road following an incident at a nearby bar earlier in the evening."
“If you recognise the descriptions of the men we would like to speak to, were in the area at the time and saw what happened, or have any other information, please call 101 or make a report via our website, quoting reference number 43250653929."
“If you don’t want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Anyone with information is urged to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
