95-year-old pedestrian dies after collision in Woodstock

The man was crossing Oxford Street on Monday when he was struck by a blue Jaguar S-Type

A 95-year-old man from Woodstock has died following a road traffic collision on Oxford Street between Upper Brook Hill and Brook Hill.

The incident happened at around 5.50pm on Monday, 30 June, when the man was crossing the road and was struck by a blue Jaguar S-Type. He was taken to hospital in a serious condition but died the following night, Tuesday 1 July. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detective Sergeant Ed Crofts from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I offer my deepest condolences to the victim’s family at this distressing time.

“We continue to appeal to anyone who was driving in the area at the time to check their dash-cam footage, as it may have captured something that could help with our enquiries.

“The Jaguar was travelling north on the A44 through Woodstock town centre towards Enstone.

“If you saw the collision, have any information or any footage which shows the pedestrian or the Jaguar before the collision, please call 101 or make a report via our website, quoting reference number 43250326293.”

No arrests have been made at this stage.
