Man jailed for threating child with knife in Oxford
A man has been jailed for threatening child with a knife in Oxford.
39 year-old Christopher Debanks of Furlong Close, Oxford, has been jailed for 18 months.
Debanks approached a group of children and threatened one of them with a knife.
At Oxford Crown Court Debanks pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a knife, one count of affray and one count of failing to surrender to court.
Investigating officer, Sergeant Louise Marsh of the Neighbourhood Policing Team for Oxford South East, said: “I would like to commend the victims and witnesses in this case who bravely came forward to report these offences. Without them we would not have been able to bring this offender to justice.
“I would like to thank the Neighbourhood Policing Team for Oxford South East who located Christopher Debanks, despite his sustained efforts to evade us, and bring him to justice.
