Man hospitalised after Oxford car park attack

Police say a 40 year old was hit by a car and attacked by two men with baseball bats in Botley.

A man's been hit by a car and attacked with baseball bats in Oxford.

The man in his 40s suffered injuries to his leg and face.

Between 7pm and 8pm on Friday 20 December, in the car park of Wickes, Aldi and Home Bargains, in Botley, the victim, a man in his forties, was hit by a black Fiat 500.

Two people then got out the vehicle, and continued to assault the victim with baseball bats before making off in their car.

The victim sustained injuries to their leg and face, and received hospital treatment, where they remain.

The two male offenders are described as having a tall and lean build, and were seen to be wearing all black clothing and balaclavas. They were both carrying metal or wooden baseball bats.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Mari Cottle-M'boge, said: “We believe this was a targeted attack and there is no threat to the wider public.

“I am appealing to anyone who has information about this assault to contact Thames Valley Police as soon as possible.

“If you saw the assault, have dash-cam footage of the assault then please come forward to us."
