Man charged with rape in South Oxfordshire
Michael McDonagh faces charges of rape and failing to return to prison
A 26-year-old man from Wantage has been charged with rape and remaining unlawfully at large in South Oxfordshire.
Michael McDonagh of Appletons was charged following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.
He faces charges including one count of rape and another count of failing to return to prison after recall.
The charges stem from the rape of a woman in Sutton Courtenay, which took place at around 2.35am on 21st February this year.
McDonagh was initially recalled to prison on 25th February in relation to a previous sentence for conspiracy to burgle.
However, he did not surrender to custody after being informed of the recall.
Michael McDonagh has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court today, 7th August 2026.
