Man charged after police find cocaine worth over £1.5 million in Oxford
A significant drug seizure has led to multiple charges
A 34-year-old man from Worcester has been charged following a major drug seizure by Thames Valley Police in Oxfordshire.
Adrian Adamowicz was arrested at around 3pm on Saturday, 22nd August, after police stopped an Audi on the southbound A34 near Oxford.
The operation, led by the force's Serious & Organised Crime Unit and supported by the Roads Policing Unit, Armed Response, and the Dog Section, uncovered 21 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than £1.5 million.
Adamowicz faced Reading Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where he was remanded in custody. He has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug (cocaine), acquiring, using, or possessing criminal property, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third-party insurance.
Detective Sergeant James Faithfull, from Specialist Operations, commented: “Thames Valley Police is relentless in taking drugs off our streets, and this case represents a significant seizure.
