Jordan Thorniley has left Oxford United after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The 26-year-old defender departs following two stints with the club, first joining on loan during the 2021/22 season before signing a permanent deal in June 2023.

Since arriving at Oxford United, Thorniley made 46 appearances and scored one goal.

A statement from Oxford United read: “Everyone at Oxford United would like to wish Jordan all the best for the future and thank him for his service to the Club.”

Thorniley’s departure marks the end of his most recent spell at the Kassam Stadium. The club says in his time as a player for the U’s, he contributed both experience and depth to the squad.

No details have been provided about his next move or future plans.
