Thames Valley Police have praised the public and partner agencies following another successful week of policing at Henley Royal Regatta.

Thousands descended on Henley-on-Thames for the prestigious rowing event, which took place in sunny conditions and drew competitors and spectators from around the world.

Chief Inspector Matthew Sulley confirmed there was a 9.5% drop in recorded crime compared to 2024, with 19 offences logged over six days. These included driving offences and public order incidents, and 15 arrests were made.

He said the operation benefited from close collaboration with the Regatta’s own security, local councils, and licensed venues. However, he expressed disappointment at an increase in drink driving offences.

“Despite that, given the size of the event, these incidents involved only a small minority,” he added. “We’re proud to have kept crime very low.”

Police say they are already preparing for Henley 2026 and thanked all those who contributed to a safe and enjoyable event. Hear all the latest news from across the UK on the hour, every hour, on Greatest Hits Radio on DAB, smartspeaker, at greatesthitsradio.co.uk, and on the Rayo app.
