Murder investigation launched following woman's death in Henley-on-Thames

A man from the town has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A murder investigation has been launched by Thames Valley Police following a woman's death in Henley-on-Thames.

At approximately 7.50am this morning, officers were called to Phyllis Court Drive, following the death of a woman.

A 44-year-old man from Henley-on-Thames has been arrested on suspicion of murder and currently remains in police custody.

Officers say there will be an increased police presence in the area while they investigate.

The victim has not yet been formally identified so far.

Detective Inspector Rob Underhill, said: “The investigation is still in its early stages; however, an arrest has been made, and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident. I want to reassure the community that there is no risk to the wider public."

“Members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence while we continue to investigate, and we would advise anyone with any concerns to please speak to one of our uniformed officers.”
