Further arrest made as police investigate Oxford assault

A further arrest has been made as police investigate an assault in Oxford.

Just before 5am on New Year’s Day, a group of people assaulted two men in their twenties outside Café Baba and Bodrum on Cowley Road.

One of the victims sustained significant injuries, including a fractured jawbone, multiple facial wounds and lost and broken teeth, when he was repeatedly punched in the face.

Two people were previously arrested in relation to the incident; one has been charged and the other released on police bail until 10 April.

A further arrest was made in connection with this incident, and the individual has since been charged.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Isabel Searle, based at St Aldate’s police station, said: “Although a further arrest has been made and the individual has now been charged, we continue to appeal for the public’s help to identify three men who may have vital information to assist our investigation.
