Following an investigation by the force, a former Thames Valley Police officer has been sentenced after being convicted of a sex offence in Wallingford.

Last October PC Daniel Hunt, aged 32, was charged with one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

The offence occurred in Wallingford in 2023.

Hunt was arrested last January and was suspended from duty until his resignation in November last year.

At Oxford Magistrates’ Court on 29th November, Hunt pleaded guilty to the offence and at Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday 5th February was sentenced to an eight month custodial sentence, suspended for 18 months.

A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also put in place for seven years.

Although this concludes the criminal case, there is an ongoing misconduct case against the former PC which continues.
