Police arrest 21-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving

A 65-year-old cyclist has died in Oxfordt following a collision with avcar on Iffley Road.
The incident occurred close to the junction with Donnington Bridge Road at approximately 11.09pm.
Despite efforts from medical professionals, the cyclist sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.
His family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
A 21-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
Witness appeal
Police are seeking witnesses who saw the collision or were travelling in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage.
Phil Hanham from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has sadly died.
“We recognise the devastating impact this loss will have on those closest to him and we are ensuring they receive the support they need.
"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the movements of the grey Volkswagen Golf travelling northbound on Iffley Road shortly before the collision, or who may have seen the cyclist in the moments leading up to the incident.
Even the smallest piece of information may prove vital in helping us establish exactly what happened."
