A man has been arrested after armed police responded to reports of a man with a knife in Oxford.
Officers were sent to Cowley Road on Monday afternoon (24 August) and cordoned off the area.
The suspect was identified, disarmed, and arrested.
The man is currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.
In a statement Thames Valley Police said: "We appreciate that seeing a large number of police officers and vehicles can be concerning.
"However, our priority will always be the safety of our communities, and today's response was necessary to ensure the incident was brought under control as quickly and safely as possible.
"We would like to thank local residents, businesses and visitors for their support while we dealt with the incident."
