Network Rail is removing Botley Bridge this week, resulting in trains between Banbury, Oxford, and Didcot being replaced by buses for the duration.

The project is part of Oxford Station's expansion and upgrade within the Oxfordshire Connect initiative, aimed at increasing rail capacity and introducing East West Rail services.

Temporary changes will affect train services and pedestrian routes from 1st to 8th February.

Throughout the bridge removal, buses will substitute trains from Oxford Station to Didcot Parkway, with departures from Becket Street car park in Oxford. Some services to the north will still operate.

The upgrades at Oxford Station, including improved walkways and cycleways, aim to enhance local infrastructure, increase rail service connectivity, and promote long-term economic and environmental benefits for the region.

Residents can attend update sessions at West Oxford Community Centre on 25th February, 24th March, and 22nd April to learn more about the ongoing developments.

The Botley Flyer, offering free transport from Botley Road to Oxford City Centre, will run additional services this week before regular scheduling resumes on 8th February.
