Over a hundred motorcyclists are expected to take part in a memorial ride through Bicester today, remembering three people who lost their lives in the fire at Bicester Motion last year.

The event has been organised by local biker Rob Pullen, who first brought the community together for a memorial ride following the tragedy.

Around 180 motorcycles took part last year, a response Rob said he was “blown away” by.

The ride will once again pass through Bicester, by Bicester Motion, the fire station and the town centre, before riders gather at a pub in Grendon Underwood.

Supporting the families

The event is being held in memory of firefighters Martyn Sadler and Jennie Logan, as well as local businessman David Chester, who died in May 2025.

Money raised will be shared between their families to be donated to their chosen charities.

Rob said the families have been supportive of the memorial and that meeting them after last year's event was particularly moving.

“They came up and thanked me for everything that I did. It was very touching," he said.

"With everything they've gone through, it's just something I wanted to do and it was an honour to be involved.”

Remembering others who responded

For Rob, the memorial is also an opportunity to recognise the emergency and frontline workers who responded to the fire.

“We take for granted what they do really," he said. "The doctors, nurses, firemen, police - all the different people that attended that tragedy.”

He hopes people will come along simply to show their support, whether they are taking part in the ride or watching it pass through Bicester.

“It's just nice for them to get together in a community,” he said.

Rob is hoping for another strong turnout, with another 180 bikers or more joining.
