Thames Valley Police seek help from the public following collision
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car near Oxford.
The collision happened in Garsington near the junction of B480 Watlington Road and Pettiwell at around 2pm on Saturday (13 June).
A white and blue BMW motorcycle collided with a grey Audi A3, leading to serious life-threatening injuries for the motorcycle rider, a man in his forties who is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
The driver of the Audi, a 51-year-old man from Wallingford, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while over the specified limit for drugs.
He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
PC Kerrie Ingham of the Roads Policing Unit expressed gratitude for the public and medical staff who assisted at the scene.
“We are carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances of this collision, with a man being arrested at the scene shortly after police arriving, in attendance with paramedics from SCAS and HEMS.
“I would particularly like to hear from anyone who witnessed the grey Audi A3 driving northbound to the junction of B480 Watlington Road and Pettiwell prior to the collision.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the white and blue BMW motorcycle driving southbound towards the junction of the B480 Watlington Road and Pettiwell prior to the collision.
“If you saw either of these vehicle prior to the collision, have dash-cam footage at around the time of the incident, please come forward.”
