Abingdon Firework Festival postponed until April 2027

The organisers of the Abingdon International Fireworks Festival have announced the postponement of the event, now scheduled to take place on Saturday, 10th April 2027.
Originally due to happen sooner, the decision comes amid severe fire risk exacerbated by prolonged dry weather conditions.
Despite forecasts indicating rain, expected moisture levels won't sufficiently decrease the fire risk to allow the event to proceed safely- according to organisers.
The team behind the festival says they've spent months planning the displays, steps for risk assessments, safety meetings, and creating a fire mitigation plan.
Reaching certain safety thresholds triggered the decision to postpone the festival.
Following recent fires countrywide, the organisers says they've opted to prioritise safety over the fireworks display.
The new date, within the Easter holidays, has been chosen for its likelihood of offering a greener setting at Abingdon Airfield.
All existing tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date
For those unable to attend on the new date, standard admission ticket holders may opt to transfer their tickets to the Abingdon Funfair & Fireworks scheduled for 14th November. This option does not apply to VIP ticket holders, and tickets remain non-refundable.
