Ramsey says he "can sense the ambition and desire for success" at the club
Aaron Ramsey has been appointed as the new head coach of Oxford United’s men’s team.
Ramsey, known for his distinguished football career, is set to bring his wealth of experience to the club.
Ramsey's appointment follows his previous role with the Wales Men’s National Team and as interim manager at Cardiff City.
During his playing career, Ramsey enjoyed more than 400 appearances with clubs such as Arsenal and Juventus and earned 86 caps for Wales.
He also left his mark internationally by playing in major tournaments including the UEFA European Championship and the FIFA World Cup.
On his new role at Oxford United, Ramsey said: “It’s an honour and privilege to be appointed Head Coach of Oxford United."
“From my discussions with the Club, I can sense the ambition and desire for success, which gives me great excitement about this opportunity.
“This is a moment I have been preparing for over many years. I’ve played under some of the best managers in the game and experienced high-pressure environments throughout my career.
I want to use what I’ve learnt to bring a culture of high standards, professionalism and work ethic to this talented group of players."
Oxford United's chairman, Dusan Bogdanovic, expressed confidence in Ramsey’s appointment: “His ambitions and desire to succeed match those we have for the Club.”
Ed Waldron, Head of Football Operations, also commented on Ramsey’s appointment, highlighting his character and drive as key factors in this decision.
Ramsey is expected to work closely with the club in preparation for the upcoming season, with details on his coaching staff to be announced soon.
