Witness appeal following serious road traffic collision in Northampton

Northamptonshire police detectives are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision in Northampton.
The collision happened around 11.50pm on Tuesday, August 25, in Burleigh Road, close to the junction of Kingsthorpe Road, and involved the driver of black Audi A4 and a cyclist.
The cyclist, a boy in his teens, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital for treatment.
A 20-year-old man from Northampton was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving whilst unfit through alcohol.
He remains in police custody.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have seen either the car or cyclist travelling in the area prior to the incident. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with relevant dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage.
