Police renew appeal for witnesses after fatal collision

Two women from Northampton have died after being seriously injured in a collision on the A10 near Chittering.

The crash occurred at around 4.45pm on 28th December and involved a silver BMW 520D and a white Nissan Qashqai.

The driver of the Nissan, a 53-year-old from Sunnyside, Ecton, and her passenger, a 47-year-old from Duke Street, Northampton, suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The 53-year-old died on 30th December, while the 47-year-old passed away on 1st January.

The driver of the BMW, a 54-year-old man from Haddenham, was arrested following the incident on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drug driving, and possession of class A drugs.

He has been bailed until 27th March.

Police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage that could assist their ongoing investigations.
