The family of a Northamptonshire officer have been given a lasting tribute, just days after the first anniversary of his death.

PC Faizaan Najeeb - known as Fuzz - was one of eight officers honoured at a national memorial service in Belfast.

His brother and sister were handed a book of tributes. The book includes a copy of the letter sent by the Federation to King Charles, as well as a tribute from Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet.

Sgt Sam Dobbs said the continued references to Fuzz and the affection in which he is held were a source of comfort to his family.

Sgt Dobbs said: "When we had his civic service, we said: 'You only die when people stop mentioning your name', this commemorative book is another way of ensuring that those memories are preserved.

"Lots of things have happened in the year since, but of course, for the family and for his closest friends, time has stood still."

Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet said: "Fuzz remains greatly missed. His memory lives on through the stories and experiences shared by colleagues.

"Over the past year, he has been honoured across the policing family, including permanent commemoration within the National Police Digital Memorial and a commemorative book capturing the memories, tributes and photographs from the service held in his honour.

"These lasting tributes ensure his service and legacy endure."

After the Memorial Day service, Fuzz's family met with Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood. They were also introduced to a number of policing figureheads, including Dame Fionnuala Jay-O'Boyle, Lord-Lieutenant of Belfast and Sir Mark Rowley, Commissioner of the Met Police.
