Trial date set for man accused of Sywell caravan park murder

A 72-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of Susan Lumsden

A man accused of murdering a woman found dead at a caravan park in Sywell will stand trial in 2027.

Nigel Brian Lewis, 72, of Ecton Lane, Sywell, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on 1st September charged with the murder of Susan Lumsden.

He was remanded into custody.

Lewis is due to stand trial at Northampton Crown Court on 1st February 2027.

What happened

Police were called to a caravan park on Ecton Lane in Sywell at about 6.20am on Monday 24th August, following reports of an assault.

Officers attended and found the body of 62-year-old Susan Lumsden inside a caravan.
