Detectives in the north of Northamptonshire have arrested seven individuals in connection with a series of alleged commercial offences across Corby and Kettering.

Offences including robbery, burglary, handling stolen goods, and vehicle theft have been reported over the past five months, targeting premises in the two towns.

Weldon burglary leads to arrests

The arrests were made following an aggravated burglary at a supermarket in Weldon, which occurred at approximately 6:50am on Monday, 5th January.

Among those arrested are a 39-year-old Corby man charged with motor vehicle theft, resulting in his recall to prison, and a 29-year-old man from Corby, also charged.

Two men aged 38 and 29, and a 36-year-old woman – all from Corby – have been released on police bail pending further investigation. Two other men, aged 34 and 42, remain in custody.

Police continue investigations

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Peters of the North CID Team said the arrests followed extensive work and determination by officers.

“A lot of good work and determination has resulted in these arrests but we will not let our foot off the gas. The investigation continues and we remain committed to bringing everyone responsible for these offences to justice," he said.

DCI Peters also expressed gratitude to members of the public who have provided information and reassured the community that police will act on details shared with them.

Investigations are ongoing, and police continue to work on identifying and charging everyone involved in the offences.
