Police investigating a theft from an elderly woman have issued an appeal for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

A man and woman approached the victim when she got off a bus on Silver Street between 4pm and 5.40pm on Tuesday 4 November.

The female suspect claimed to be homeless and when the victim opened her purse to give her some money she grabbed it and ran off with the man towards Market Street.

Police are hoping people in the area at the time might've seen something that would help them to identify the pair.
