Police launch appeal after driver dies in fatal A508 crash near Yardley Gobion

The crash involved a grey Ford Fiesta and a white Renault truck travelling in opposite directions

A man has died following a serious two-vehicle collision on the A508 near Yardley Gobion, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to Northampton Road at around 4pm on Tuesday, June 2, after a crash involving a grey Ford Fiesta and a white Renault truck travelling in opposite directions.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car sustained serious injuries.

An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is now underway, with detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision or who was travelling along the A508 at the time and may have captured footage on a dash-cam.

Police have not yet released any further details about those involved.
