Northamptonshire Police have issued a warning to domestic abusers that their behaviour will not be tolerated over the Christmas period.

Officers say incidents of domestic abuse can increase during the festive season and have stressed that victims will be supported and offenders will be dealt with robustly.

The force says specialist teams will continue to work closely with partner agencies to protect those at risk, while encouraging anyone experiencing abuse to come forward and seek help.

Police are also urging friends, family and neighbours to be vigilant and report concerns, reminding the public that support is available throughout the holiday period.
