Northamptonshire to host new music festival this summer
The 'Ground Rules Festival' will take place at Deene Park
An independent music festival in Northamptonshire, has been granted permission to proceed with a three-day event later this year at Deene Park.
Ground Rules Festival, will take place on June 19th to June 22nd and will feature live and recorded music at the historic country estate venue. The planned opening times for music are between 11am and 4am on the first two days, with a midnight finish on the final evening.
Concerns had been raised by local residents about noise and antisocial behaviour from previous events held at Deene Park but North Northamptonshire Council have stated that there will be certain conditions for the festival organisers, include a noise management plan and ongoing engagement with a safety advisory group.
Festival organiser Guy Freeman-Pow is said to have issued assurances to the community, emphasising that Ground Rules Festival will be smaller in scale compared to previous events hosted at the site.
In a statement he said: “We are much smaller, we are a third of the size, we have half the amount of stages and I’d like to think the suppliers we have got in are much more professional and we have worked with them previously and trust them.
“There have been many, many comments supporting us, asking for local tickets, which we have discount tickets on sale for locals.'' He added.
The festival will open to attendees for camping at 11am on Friday, 19th June, and all attendees must vacate by midday on Monday, 22nd June.
