Woman assaulted by group of people at Northamptonshire music festival
One of the offenders threw water in the woman's face before she was punched
Police in Northamptonshire are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted by up to seven people during a music festival.
Officers were alerted to an incident taking place at the music festival at Delapre Abbey in Northampton between 8pm and 8:30pm on July 19th.
The woman, who was in her 30s, is reported to have been assaulted by a number of assailants, and involved different forms of alleged abuse.
One of the suspects is believed to have verbally abused the woman, before throwing water in her face.
Following this, the rest of the group joined in the assault, resulting in the woman being kicked and punched.
After the incident, Northamptonshire Police launched an investigation and have now appealed to the public for more information and witnesses.
The force described the event as "very popular", noting that there were many people at the abbey during the course of the festival.
Officers are now appealing to the public to get in touch with any information that they may have regarding the incident.
