Northampton residents evacuated due to suspicious object in home

Residents in Fishponds Road, Northampton, were evacuated from their homes after a suspicious object was discovered at a house.

A cordon was set up while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit conducted a thorough investigation of the object.

Emergency services advised people to avoid the area, and road closures were implemented on Fishponds Road, between Gibbs Acre Court and Manorfield Road, including Foskitt Court South and Gallfield Court.

Northamptonshire Police ensured public safety while assessments took place.

The incident concluded shortly before 1am this morning, Friday, 14th August, allowing residents to return to their homes.

Road closures have now been lifted, and normal access to the area has resumed.

Police have expressed gratitude to evacuated residents for their patience and cooperation during this time.
