A 26-year-old from Northampton has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison for stalking his former partner.

Liam Connor King pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including stalking, breaching a non-molestation order, and breaching an interim stalking protection order at Northampton Crown Court on 21st January.

King's harassment campaign spanned 12 weeks, during which he called the woman over 1,500 times, sent hundreds of messages from various phone devices, and created more than 20 social media accounts to contact her.

In a particularly distressing act, King published private sexual images of his ex-partner on TikTok, including her personal information.

Despite a non-molestation order aimed at safeguarding the victim, King violated it six times.

Northamptonshire Police secured a stalking protection order, which King also breached, leading to his arrest.

On 20th February, he was sentenced to two years and 11 months in prison.

The victim expressed the enduring impact of King's emotional abuse in her statement:

“When a relationship is physically abusive, you have marks on your face – on your body. You bruise, and eventually those bruises go away. The mental scarring doesn’t go away. When someone gives you physical marks, it can be easy to walk away from them, they’ve physically hurt you. When you suffer emotional abuse, they make it seem like it’s all in your head.”

Detective Constable Bryony Elgey-Farmer praised the victim for her support and patience during the investigation, which required her to provide ten separate statements.

“She has been incredibly understanding of the investigative process and I commend her for her patience in the face of genuine trauma,” she said.

“I hope this investigation demonstrates the seriousness with which we take stalking and I want to reassure people that we will continue working hard to put more people like Liam King behind bars – the process can take time, but we will do all that we can to protect victims.”
