Man jailed for assaulting woman in Northamptonshire
Connor Tough pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman he was dating
A 23-year-old man has been sent to prison, after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman he was dating.
Connor Tough, of no fixed abode, assaulted the woman on a number of occasions, throughout their short relationship.
On one occasion in January this year, Tough slapped the woman on the leg, leaving a red handprint, and on another, he stubbed out a cigarette on her hand, leaving burn injuries.
He also headbutted her on another occasion and repeatedly sent her threatening messages.
The woman involved bravely reported the incidents to Northamptonshire Police and Tough was arrested and subsequently charged.
After pleading guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stalking with intent to cause anxiety/distress at Northampton Crown Court last week (September 3), he was sentenced to 36 weeks in prison.
Lead investigator, Detective Constable Chris Gosmore, said: “I am really pleased to see Connor Tough handed a custodial sentence and I hope it provides our victim with some closure. She has been very brave in supporting our case and I hope she can now move forward onto better things.
