Man appears in court charged with Kettering murder

A man has appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (November 13), in connection with the murder of John Gerard Boyle.

John, aged 71, was found dead inside his flat in Leatherland Court, Kettering, at about 6.30pm on Saturday, November 8, after police officers were called to reports of a concern for welfare.

John David Martin Mills, aged 45, of Marriott Street, Northampton, was charged with one count of murder and one count of theft of a motor vehicle in connection with the incident.

He was also charged with two counts of breaching his notification requirements, unrelated to the murder.

Mills appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court today, where he was remanded into custody ahead of his next appearance at Northampton Crown Court tomorrow (November 14).
