Man arrested on suspicion of rape in Wellingborough

Detectives investigating an allegation of rape in Wellingborough are appealing for a member of the public who spoke to the victim, to get in touch.

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for a person at Morrisons in Oxford Street, between 5.10pm and 5.20pm on Tuesday, November 11 who spoke to a teenage girl inside the supermarket.

Officers say if this is you, please contact Northamptonshire Police as a matter of urgency.

A 61-year-old Wellingborough man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.

In addition to tracing the member of the public who spoke to the victim, detectives would also like to hear from anyone who may have also seen the teenage girl at the supermarket on November 11 or in Bassetts Park on November 10.
