Investigation after three stabbed and another unconscious in Kettering

An investigation has begun after three people were stabbed and another beaten unconscious in Kettering town centre.
Northamptonshire Police officers and paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Gold Street just after 8.35pm last night (Sunday, August 30) following reports of a 30-year-old woman having been stabbed outside The Peacock pub.
When police arrived minutes later they also found two other men who had been stabbed and a third man lying unconscious in the road, opposite the entrance to the nearby Newlands shopping centre.
All four injured parties were taken to Kettering General Hospital with one of them having undergone surgery overnight.
Police have arrested a 24-year-old Kettering man on suspicion of three counts of grievous bodily harm.
Two men, aged 43 and 40, both from Kettering, and a 31-year-old man from Barton Seagrave, near Kettering, have also been arrested on suspicion of affray.
Det Insp Wayne Preece, of Northamptonshire Police, said the violence broke out on a busy bank holiday eve in the town and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
He said: “This was a very serious incident and a fast-moving investigation is now under way to find out what has happened.
“Thankfully, police responded really quickly to this incident and we have made a number of arrests and are not ruling out further ones. Tackling knife crime remains a key priority for this Force and we will relentlessly target those individuals who carry such weapons on our streets.
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this violence to come forward, and we are particularly keen to see any mobile phone, dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch with us by calling 101 and quoting incident 549 of 30/08/2026.”
