Independent living apartments to open in Oundle for over-55s
Roman Court offers housing with care support for older residents
Oundle is set to welcome new independent living apartments for older residents through the Roman Court Extra Care scheme developed by North Northamptonshire Council and Housing 21.
Opening in June 2026, Roman Court provides 65 one- and two-bedroom apartments, promoting independence with available care support.
Residents 55 years and older can apply, following an assessment of care and housing needs by North Northamptonshire Council.
Cllr Martin Griffiths, Leader of North Northamptonshire Council and Executive member for Strategic Housing, praised the development saying, "Roman Court represents a real investment in helping people stay independent for longer, with the dignity and security they deserve.
''This development will not only provide high-quality housing but also create a caring and supportive environment at the heart of the Oundle community."
Nikki-Leigh Dipper, Regional Extra Care Manager at Housing 21, said in a statement: "We are excited to open the doors to our latest Extra Care scheme, Roman Court. Opening in June, this much-needed scheme will benefit people aged 55 and over who want the assurance of on-site support whilst keeping hold of their independence."
Situated adjacent to Oundle Walk, Roman Court includes facilities like a cafe, hair salon, communal gardens, and provides accessible and pet-friendly accommodations. There will also be an on-site care team and manager.
Interested residents can contact Housing 21 or an adult social care team for information regarding application procedures.
