Fourth man charged after 17-year-old boy shot in Hazel Wood

A man from Corby is the latest to be charged following the shooting of a teenage boy in the Hazel Wood area in April this year

A fourth man has now been charged in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Corby.

The incident happened on Thursday 11 April in Hazel Wood, near Westcott Way.

Ben Smith, aged 39, of Newark Drive in Corby, has been charged with assisting an offender. He is due to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 8 July.

Northamptonshire Police said three other people have already been charged in connection with the incident.

Matas Sukaitis, aged 20, of Chaucer Close in Corby, has been charged with attempted murder.

Robert Quittenton, aged 75, and Sam Stimpson, aged 37, both of Brambleside Court in Kettering, have also been charged with assisting an offender.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “All three men are due to appear at Northampton Crown Court on Wednesday 9 July.”
