Firefighters undertook a simulated gas leak exercise at Tigers Indoor Play in Kettering, designed to test their response to a complex emergency scenario.

The training involved locating and rescuing 12 simulated casualties from the labyrinthine play equipment.

The firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, navigated the unique challenges of the indoor environment, including climbing stairs and manoeuvring through confined and elevated spaces to reach each casualty successfully.

Kettering Fire Station's Crew Manager Adam Rawlins led the exercise.

Rawlins said: “Exercises like this are invaluable for our crews. We’re really grateful to Tigers Play for giving us the opportunity to test our skills in a realistic environment and prepare for scenarios we might face.

“We always hope that we never have to attend incidents like this, but we are ready and prepared to respond effectively if we do.”
