Driver killed in crash on M1 in Northamptonshire

Officers are investigating the collision that happened on Tuesday night between junctions 16 and 17

Police officers investigating a fatal crash on the M1 are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.

The collision happened at around 10pm on Tuesday, August 4, on the northbound carriageway between Junctions 16 and 17 and involved four vehicles.

Tthe driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from anyone who was travelling on this section of the M1 at the time of the collision and may have witnessed what happened or captured footage on a dash-cam.

In particular, investigators are keen to obtain any dash-cam footage recorded on the M1 between Junctions 16 and 17, in either direction, between 9.45pm and 10.05pm on Tuesday, August 4.

Officers say any footage, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove vital to the investigation.
