A man has been seriously injured after a road traffic collision occurred on the A45 in Daventry.

At about 5.55pm yesterday (November 20), a collision occurred near the Weedon bypass between the drivers of a silver Volkswagen Golf and a grey BMW 420D travelling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Volkswagen – a 50-year-old man – was taken to University Hospital Coventry Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver and a passenger in the BMW made off from the scene and enquiries are continuing to identify them.

Detectives would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have dash-cam footage that captured any part of the collision.
