Daventry property closed down due to persistent drug use and anti-social behaviour
Residents express relief as police secure closure order
Authorities have closed a property in Daventry’s Crabtree House following concerns over drugs and anti-social behaviour. The Northampton Magistrates’ Court granted a three-month closure order earlier this month.
Complaints about drug dealing, drug use, and disruptive behaviour in communal areas were rife, with the nuisance escalating to the point where some in the community considered relocating.
PC Tom Wills from the Anti-Social Behaviour and Civil Orders Team collaborated with the Daventry Neighbourhood Policing Team to tackle the issue.
Wills emphasised the disruption caused by the residents, stating: “The residents within this property had caused significant upset and disruption to the daily lives of the local community for a long period of time.”
He affirmed Northamptonshire Police's commitment to addressing such issues and fostering community confidence.
Residents have already expressed relief, with the property now fully boarded up.
