Cobblers fan appointed as assistant manager of national football team
He's off to the Marshall Islands
A Cobblers Fan has been appointed as the assistant manager of a national football team in the Marshall Islands.
The Marshall Islands Men’s National Team will be making history this August by playing their first ever international match.
The match will form part of the 2025 Outrigger Challenge Cup, the annual competition created by the Marshall Islands Soccer Federation to create more opportunities for nations in our region to play competitive soccer and raise awareness of the sport in our region.
Justin Walley started by sharing his ideas for the team and then decided he wanted to be a bigger part of it:
"Early 2023 we launched and since then we have been building the project and we've all been out to the Marshall Islands to coach the local kids in the schools, adult groups and the women's grouping we have in the US as well so we've been developing that."
Northampton Town Football club took to Facebook to wish Justin Good Luck:
"Good luck to Cobblers fan Justin Walley on his appointment as the assistant manager of the Marshall Islands national team. Go well, Justin!"
