Chelveston murder case trial date set

A trial date has been set for a 50-year-old man from Chelveston who has been charged with murder.

On Monday 2 February, 47-year-old Helen Bird was attacked inside a property in High Street, Chelveston.

She died on Tuesday 10 February after going to hospital with serious injuries.

James Daniel Bird, of High Street, Chelveston, appeared at Northampton Crown Court this morning (18 March) charged with her murder.

A provisional trial date of August 3 was set with Bird remanded into custody ahead of his Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing at Northampton Crown Court on April 24.
