Consultation gives Kettering community a voice in future plans
The Central Kettering Neighbourhood Plan consultation runs for six weeks
North Northamptonshire Council has launched a public consultation inviting residents and stakeholders to submit their views on the draft Central Kettering Neighbourhood Plan.
Running for six weeks until 2nd December, the consultation seeks formal representations on the plan, which will serve as a key document for determining planning applications in the town and supporting broader development policies.
Created by Kettering Town Council, the Neighbourhood Plan provides detailed local guidance to complement existing strategies, including the North Northants Joint Core Strategy and the Kettering Town Centre Area Action Plan.
Executive Member for Planning and Economic Growth, Cllr Jan O’Hara said:
“Neighbourhood Plans play a huge part in shaping communities across the local area. But any Plan needs the input of residents - local knowledge and a keen understanding of an area is vital."
Cllr Martin Griffiths, Leader of the Council said:
“When our corporate plan was unanimously approved, we made a commitment to work with local communities to enable them to shape need at a local level through Neighbourhood Plans."
After the consultation period ends, the Plan will undergo examination followed by a referendum to seek its adoption.
Residents and stakeholders can access the draft plan, supporting documents, and details on how to respond via the council’s consultation hub.
