Silverstone hosts CarFest with Northamptonshire charity gaining support
Northamptonshire Community Foundation among charities benefiting from ticket sales at CarFest
This summer, for the first time, CarFest will take place at Silverstone, providing a significant fundraising opportunity for the Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF).
The NCF is set to benefit as one of CarFest's Regional Charity Partners, marking a new chapter in their support for local grassroots initiatives.
Rachel McGrath from NCF expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “I'm delighted to be, for the first time ever, a regional charity partner for CarFest, which has found its new home at Silverstone."
CarFest, known for its family-friendly approach, will feature motorsport celebrations alongside various activities such as Spa Fest and Food Fest, taking place from 28th August to 30th August.
Partnership with CarFest aims to boost local projects
CarFest has chosen five Regional Charity Partners, including Helen & Douglas House, The Pace Centre, The Smallpeice Trust, and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
Rachel explained that the partnership's goal is to establish a CarFest fund, which will support local groups and charities around Silverstone. She said, "we will be being supported by ticket funds generated to be able to set up a CarFest fund to support local groups and charities in and around Silverstone."
Through ticket sales, every participant contributes to the charitable efforts, helping these organisations continue their vital work.
More than just a festival
According to the organisers, CarFest, created by Chris Evans, claims to be the UK’s biggest family fundraising festival aimed at supporting various children's charities.
The organisers suggest the festival encompasses more than music, offering experiences such as car displays, food demonstrations, and performances by well-known artists and entertainers.
For those interested, day and weekend tickets, including family packages, are available on the CarFest website, where organisers promise engaging activities for all ages.
Rachel hopes that the partnership with CarFest continues beyond 2026, enhancing community engagement and boosting tourism in Northamptonshire.
