Man charged after serious assault in Camp Hill

A 23-year-old man has been charged after a serious assault in Camp Hill, Northampton.

Shakin Sultan, from Hill Fort Close, Northampton, appeared before the town's magistrates' court charged with section 18 – wounding with intent and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

The charges relate to an alleged serious assault in Fort Hill Close at about 8pm on Saturday, April 18.

At yesterday’s hearing, Sultan entered no plea, and the case was committed to Northampton Crown Court for trial.

Sultan was remanded into custody until Wednesday June 3, when he will appear before the crown court.
