Witness appeal following assault near Brigstock
The incident happened between on Sunday, July 5, when a woman was assaulted at the roadside
Police officers investigating an assault that took place on the A6116 near Brigstock are appealing for members of the public who stopped and assisted the victim.
The incident happened between 2.40am and 3.20am on Sunday, July 5, when a woman was assaulted at the roadside following an altercation with a man she had been travelling with in a grey Mercedes A-Class.
The man then ran off in the direction of Stanion.
Officers would like to speak to the occupants of a taxi who stopped to help the woman, as well as anyone else who may have passed the incident and inadvertently captured it on dash-cam footage.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
Northamptonshire Police says 'as the A6116 is a busy route between Corby and the A14, we are asking anyone who saw the incident or saw a man or woman on the road between Stanion and Brigstock at the time, to get in touch".
A 20-year-old man from Corby has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
