Police investigate attempted ram raid at Co-op in Wellingborough

Detectives appeal for information after a car caused damage to the shop

Police are investigating an attempted ram raid at the Co-op on Cheyne Walk in Wellingborough that occurred early this morning.

At around 5.50am on 22nd December, a Volvo car was used to smash through the shop’s front window.

As a result of the collision, the car caught fire, causing significant damage to both the vehicle and the exterior of the shop.

A scene guard remains on-site as investigations continue, and officers are working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detectives are urging anyone with information about the event, including dashcam footage showing the car reversing into the premises, to come forward.
