Appeal after assault involving suspected corrosive substance

Police officers are appealing for witnesses, after a man had a suspected corrosive substance sprayed into his face, in Northampton.

It happened in East Oval, Kings Heath, Northampton, between 1pm and 1.30pm on Saturday, August 22, after an altercation involving the drivers of two vehicles.

Police are seeking to identify a male described as black, aged between 25 and 30, about 6ft 1in tall, with a dark beard and moustache. He was wearing a dark grey hoodie, dark trousers, possibly Adidas-branded, and spoke with a local accent.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, saw either vehicle in the area beforehand, or has relevant CCTV, doorbell, dash-cam or mobile phone footage.
