Woman suffers life-threatening injuries after collision in Newton Aycliffe

A woman has suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision in Newton Aycliffe.

Officers were called at 8.20pm on Saturday to a two-vehicle collision on Middridge Road.

The 54-year-old driver of one of the vehicles was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment. Her condition is currently described as life-threatening.

The other driver a 31-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while under the influence of drugs, and possession of a controlled drug.
